General Information

What is ACC all about?

The Asian Carriers’ Conference is an annual Telecom event hosted by Philippine Long Distance Company (PLDT) and Smart Communications Inc., (SMART). The ACC is the most sought-after telecom conference in Asia where today’s industry leaders from fixed and mobile carriers, Internet and VAS providers, and other alternative service providers, vendors and suppliers, and submarine cables, join under one roof to discuss and share about the latest technology, breakthroughs and innovation in the world of telecommunication.

For four days, the ACC lets you network, collaborate, and conduct business with communications professionals. The ACC is a venue where you can forge new business alliances and explore opportunities in Asia.

All these plus fun-filled activities await the participants!

When will ACC be held?

ACC will be held on September 21-24, 2010.

Where will ACC be held?

ACC will be held at Shangri-La’s Mactan Resort and Spa, Cebu City, Philippines.

Who attends this event?

The event is attended by middle management to top executives from fixed and wireless telecommunications operators, equipment and software developers, VAS and VOIP providers, vendors and submarine cable operators from more than 44 countries.

How many delegates attend this event?

More than 600 delegates are expected to attend this year’s conference.

Registration

How do I register at ACC?

There are two (2) ways to register, either via offline registration or on-line registration. For OFF-LINE REGISTRATION, you will have to download the off-line registration form and follow instructions indicated on the form. For ON-LINE REGISTRATION, just directly fill-up the registration form available at the ACC website and follow the credit card payment instructions.

For every five delegates, your company is entitled to have a 1 free conference pass for corporate group registration (i.e. register 5 delegates and get 1 free).

What is included in the registration price?

  • Attendance and pass to all official ACC events and functions
  • Conference meals and snacks
  • 1 social activity of your choice (i.e. SPA with city tour or Sailing)

How do I pay?

Can I cancel my registration?

Yes. However, we cannot refund the full amount of the registration fee that you have paid. A US$50 will be charged for processing your request.

Can I transfer my registration or change the name of a registered delegate?

Yes. Just advise the secretariat on or before August 21, 2010 about the changes. This is to give enough time to make changes in collaterals such as the conference IDs and delegates list before printing.

What is the group registration package? How can we avail it?

The group registration package entitles your company a free registration for one delegate for every group of 5. It is only applicable for delegates coming from the same company. Subsidiaries and sister companies will also be entertained. Please note that we will not process your group registration package if you come from different companies.

What if there are more than 5 of us who will be coming to the conference? How do we avail the group registration package?

In order to avail the group registration package, you have to be in groups of 5. For example, if there are 8 of you who want to register, 6 will fall under the group registration package. The other two will register using individual registration.

Accommodation

How can I reserve or book a room in the hotel?

There are two easy steps to book a room in the hotel.

  1. Download the Hotel Accommodation Booking Form
  2. Email filled-up form to ACC Secretariat: danika@asapcebu.com or fax to (6332) 2386974

Once your payment has been successfully transacted, you will receive a Payment Confirmation Message and a Room Reservation Confirmation Number.

Does the hotel have Internet Access/WLAN?

The hotel does not provide wired or wireless Internet access in the ballroom. A number of hotel guest rooms however do have broadband Internet access. PLDT will provide Internet access in the secretariat room by wired connection.

How much do I have to pay for the exhibition booth?

The exhibit booth costs $2,500.00.

What is included in the exhibit package?

The following are what you can expect when you avail the exhibit package

  • 3m x 2m Exhibit Booth area
  • Sponsors corporate logo in the conference bag (attached as tag) / kit
  • Rights to distribute flyers, brochures, tokens or giveaways to the delegates during the conference
  • Brief company profile on the ACC website
  • Free registration for one (1) person

Travel Information

Do I need a visa in travelling to the Philippines?

ACC participants are responsible themselves for obtaining a visa for the Philippines if they require one. Nationals from countries listed here who are travelling to the Philippines for business and tourism purposes are allowed to enter the Philippines without visas for a stay not exceeding twenty-one (21) days, provided they complete the following requirements.

  • Passport/Travel Document Valid for at least six (6) months beyond the intended period of stay in the Philippines;
  • Duly Accomplished Visa application forms;
  • Passport Photos (2 pieces);
  • Proof of bona fide status as tourist or businessman;
  • Confirmed tickets for return or onward journey to the next port of destination
  • Payment of Visa Fees

How do I apply for a VISA?

As a rule, application for a temporary visitor's visa must be made in person.

Applicants for temporary visitor's visa should normally apply at the Philippine Embassy or Consulate that has jurisdiction over their place of residence. While some visa applicants may apply at any Philippine Embassy or Consulate abroad, others are only allowed to apply his/her visa at the Philippine Embassy or Consulate in his country of origin or legal residence.

The following are the minimum requirements for applying a temporary visitor's visa:

What are the airlines or flights that are accessible to Cebu City, Philippines?

Direct international flights to Mactan International Airport are accessible from Hong Kong (via Philippine Airlines and Cathay Pacific), Singapore (Silk Air and Cebu Pacific), Kuala Lumpur (Philippine Airlines and Malaysian Airlines), Narita, Osaka and Seoul (Philippine Airlines ), Inchon, Korea (Asiana Airlines, Philippine Airlines, Cebu Pacific), Doha (Quatar Airways), Taipe (China Airlines), Pudong, China (China Eastern Airlines).

In addition, many international carriers fly directly to Manila's Ninoy Aquino International Airport where connecting domestic flights to Mactan, Cebu are readily available. Domestic flights are provided by Philippine Airlines, Cebu Pacific and Zestair. Please contact your travel agent for more details.

What is/are the available mode of transportation from the airport to the venue?

From the Mactan International Airport, the Shangri-La's Mactan Island Resort & Spa is a short 15-minute drive accessible by airport taxi, hotel shuttle or via pre-arranged pick up service. Please identify your pick up requirement in the hotel registration form.
