About ACC

1. What is ACC all about?
The Asian Carriers’ Conference is an annual Telecom conference organized by Philippine Long Distance Company (PLDT), supported by Smart Communications Inc., (Smart) and Digital Telecommunications Philippines Inc (Digitel/Sun Cellular). The ACC is the most sought-after telecom conference in Asia where today’s industry leaders from telecommunications industry including wholesale fixed and mobile carriers, network and infrastructure providers, applications and service developers, handset and equipment manufacturers and entertainment and content distributors meet to network, conduct business and build relationships. For four days, the ACC lets you network, collaborate, and conduct business with communications professionals. The ACC is a venue where you can forge new business alliances and explore opportunities in Asia.
2. When is ACC 2013?
ACC 2013 will be held on September 3-6, 2013.
3. Where will ACC be held?
ACC 2013 will be held at Shangri La's Mactan Resort & Spa in Mactan Island, Cebu City, Philippines.
4. What do I need to know about Cebu City, Philippines?
General information on Cebu City, Philippines
Cebu is a name common to an island, a province and a city. Cebu City, also called the Queen City of the South, is the capital of the island province of Cebu. It is the second largest metropolitan area in the Philippines and is the center of commerce, trade and industry in the Visayas (Central Philippines). Mactan Island is a popular tourist destination, offering a variety of choices within a short distance from the city.

Climate
Cebu's climate is tropical. September can be considered cool with temperatures from 24°C to 28°C.

Currency
The official currency in the Philippines is the Peso, equivalent to 100 centavos. The average foreign exchange rate as of February 2013 is about PhP 40.5 to a US$1.

Electricity
Electricity in the Philippines is 220 volts, 60 cycles. The standard plug is two-prong flat.

Local Time
GMT +8 hours is observed in the whole Philippines.

Office Hours and Holidays
Government and most business are open from 8:00 A.M. to 5:00 P.M., Monday to Friday with some business offices open on Saturdays. Commercial establishments and shopping mall hours are usually from 10:00 A.M. to 9:00 P.M.

5. Who attends this event?
The event is attended by middle management to top executives from fixed and wireless telecommunications operators, equipment and software developers, VAS and VOIP providers, vendors and submarine cable operators from than 45 countries all over the world.
6. How many delegates attend the event in 2012?
There were 1,180 registered delegates in ACC 2012. More are expected to attend in 2013.

Registration

7. How do I register for the ACC 2013?
There are two (2) ways to register: either via offline registration form or on-line registration through this website. For OFF-LINE REGISTRATION, you will have to download the off-line registration form from the ACC website (www.asiancarriersconference.com) and follow the instructions indicated on the form. For ON-LINE REGISTRATION, just directly fill-up the registration form available on this website and follow the credit card payment instructions.
8. How much does it cost to register?
Early bird rates until April 30, 2013 - US $ 400
Regular registration rates from May 1 to August 31, 2013 - US $ 550
On site registration from September 1 to 6, 2013 - US $ 650
There are also onsite 1-day registration rates, as well as group discounts for  party of 6 delegates from the same company.
9. What is included in the registration price?
  • Attendance and pass to all ACC 2013 events, functions and activities
  • All conference meals, snacks and evening entertainment.
  • 1 social activity of your choice (i.e. golf, spa with city tour or sailing)


10. What are the available payment options to register for ACC 2013?
There are 3 payment options for your registration. Payment options are as follows:

11. Can I cancel my registration?
Cancellations are allowed and can be made upon submission of written or email request. However, there will be a US$50 cancellation charge per cancelled delegate if the request is received before July 31, 2013. Cancellations made on or after August 1, 2013 while cannot be refunded, can be substituted for another attendee.
12. Can I transfer my registration or change the name of a registered delegate?
Yes, registration substitution is allowed until August 15, 2013. If the request is made prior to July 31, 2013, registered delegate name substitutions will be implemented free of charge. Between August 1-15, 2013, requests for substitution will incur a US$50 processing fee per delegate substitution, while substitution requests made on or after August 15, 2013 will no longer be accepted.
13. What is the group registration package? How can we avail it?
The group registration package entitles your company a free registration for one delegate for every group of 5 paying delegates. It is only applicable for delegates coming from the same company during the regular registration period.  This group registration discount does not apply during the early bird registration period (until April 30, 2013).  Subsidiaries and sister companies are also considered as from the same company. Please note that the group registration package will not apply for delegates who come from different companies.  Registration for all 6 delegates and payment for all 5 delegates should be made at the same time.
14. What if there are more than 5 of us who will be coming to the conference? How do we avail the group registration package?
In order to avail the group registration package, you have to be in groups of 5+1. For example, if there are 8 of you who want to register, 6 will fall under the group registration package. The other two will register using individual registration.


Accommodation

15. How can I reserve or book a room in the hotel?
Only ACC 2013 registered delegates can book a room for sleeping and meeting requirements at the ACC venue hotels. The process would be:

1. Register delegates for ACC 2013.
2. Download the Hotel Accommodation Booking Form.
3. Email the completed form to the ACC Secretariat at info@asiancarriersconference.com or send a fax copy to +63 32 238 6974.

Once your payment has been successfully transacted, you will receive a Payment Confirmation Message and a Room Reservation Confirmation Number at your chosen hotel.
16. Does the Shangri-La hotel have wifi access?
Yes, the hotel provides wifi to hotel guests.  However, the ACC will also provide supplemental wifi access points in the public areas of the hotel during the event.
17. What are the event partnership opportunities at ACC?

18. What are the function rooms/meeting rooms available for the event?
Function rooms and meeting rooms will be available for rent for the duration of the conference. These rooms however are limited and on a first-paid, first-served basis. Please contact the secretariat for details and availability.info@asiancarriersconference.com
19. How much do the meeting rooms cost?
There are different options available for meeting rooms, from standard meeting cubicles, converted meeting rooms to meeting room suites. These meeting rooms are varied and very limited, so book your place early. Please contact Danika Tan at danika@asapcebu.com for details.
20. How do I book a meeting room?

21. Can I display signage of our company at our meeting room door?
Yes, you can.
22. What conference sessions take place at ACC?

24. How do I reserve a bilateral table?
The ACC will provide a free bilateral meeting room for each company who has a minimum of 7 registered delegates.

28. Do I need a visa in travelling to the Philippines?
ACC participants are responsible themselves for obtaining a visa for the Philippines if they require one. Nationals from countries listed here who are travelling to the Philippines for business and tourism purposes are allowed to enter the Philippines without visas for a stay not exceeding twenty-one (21) days, provided they complete the following requirements.
  • Passport/Travel Document Valid for at least six (6) months beyond the intended period of stay in the Philippines;
  • Duly Accomplished Visa application forms;
  • Passport Photos (2 pieces);
  • Proof of bona fide status as tourist or businessman;
  • Confirmed tickets for return or onward journey to the next port of destination
  • Payment of Visa Fees
29. How do I apply for a VISA?
As a rule, application for a temporary visitor's visa must be made in person. Applicants for temporary visitor's visa should normally apply at the Philippine Embassy or Consulate that has jurisdiction over their place of residence. While some visa applicants may apply at any Philippine Embassy or Consulate abroad, others are only allowed to apply his/her visa at the Philippine Embassy or Consulate in his country of origin or legal residence. The following are the minimum requirements for applying a temporary visitor's visa:
  1. Passport/Travel Document Valid for at least six (6) months beyond the intended period of stay in the Philippines;
  2. Duly Accomplished Visa application forms;
  3. Passport Photos (2 pieces);
  4. Proof of bona fide status as tourist or businessman;
  5. Confirmed tickets for return or onward journey to the next port of destination
  6. Payment of Visa Fees

30. What are the airlines or flights that are accessible to Cebu City, Philippines?
Direct international flights to Mactan International Airport are accessible from Hong Kong (via Philippine Airlines and Cathay Pacific), Singapore (Silk Air and Cebu Pacific), Kuala Lumpur (Philippine Airlines and Malaysian Airlines), Narita, Osaka and Seoul (Philippine Airlines), Inchon, Korea (Asiana Airlines, Philippine Airlines, Cebu Pacific), Doha (Quatar Airways), Taipei (China Airlines), Pudong, China (China Eastern Airlines). In addition, many international carriers fly directly to Manila's Ninoy Aquino International Airport where connecting domestic flights to Mactan, Cebu are readily available. Domestic flights are provided by Philippine Airlines, Cebu Pacific and Zestair. Please contact your travel agent for more details.
31. What is/are the available mode of transportation from the airport to the venue?
From the Mactan International Airport, the Shangri-La's Mactan Resort & Spa is a short 15-minute drive accessible by airport taxi, hotel shuttle or via pre-arranged pick up service. Please identify your pick up requirement in the hotel registration form.
32. Can I sponsor a function at the conference?

33. Who have already confirmed to attend this event? Can I get a list of all the attendees?
Once registered you can view the other Attendees by visiting the ATTENDEES page on the ACC website. You can also view and contact the Exhibitors and schedule meetings with other delegates.
34. Can I contact other ACC delegates?
Only registered delegates can contact other registered ACC delegates by logging into the ACC members' login page and then visiting the ATTENDEES page.
35. How can I contact other ACC delegates?
Only registered delegates can contact other registered delegates on the ACC website member’s area. Registered delegates can use the website meeting scheduler to schedule meetings with other registered delegates.  Follow the onsite instructions on how to contact ACC delegates using the ACC ATTENDEES page.
